SU@PAN'2016: Author Obfuscation

The anonymity of a text’s writer is an important topic for some domains, such as witness protection and anonymity programs. Stylometry can be used to reveal the true author of a text even if s/he wishes to hide his/her identity. In this paper, we present our approach for hiding an author’s identity by masking their style, which we developed for the Author Obfuscation task, part of the PAN-2016 ...

The parameters 4-(12, 6, 6) and related t-designs

It is shown that a 4-(12,6,6) design, if it exists, must be rigid. The intimate relationship of such a design with 4-(12,5,4) designs and 5-(12,6,3) designs is presented and exploited. In this endeavor we found: (i) 30 nonisomorphic 4-(12,5,4) designs; (ii) all cyclic 3-(11,5,6) designs; (iii) all 5-(12,6,3) designs preserved by an element of order three fixing no points and no blocks; and (iv)...

SU@PAN'2015: Experiments in Author Profiling

We describe the submission of the Sofia University team for the Author Profiling Task, part of the PAN 2015 Challenge. Given a set of writing samples by the same person, the task asks to predict some demographical information such as age and gender, as well as the personality type of that person. We experimented with SVM classifiers using variety of features extracted from publicly available re...

SU@PAN'2015: Experiments in Author Verification

We describe the submission of the Sofia University team for the Author Identification Task, part of the PAN 2015 Challenge. Given a small set of documents by a single person and a “questioned” document, possibly of a different genre and/or topic, the task is to determine whether the questioned document was written by the same person who wrote the known document set. This is a hard but realistic...

In search of 4-(12, 6, 4) designs: Part II

In a 4-(12, 6, 4) design a block is either disjoint from one other block or it has five points in common with one other block. For a 4-(12, 6, 4) design with a pair of blocks of the second type it is shown that· another thirty blocks of the design can be completed in a unique way and these thirty blocks contain a copy of a 3-(10, 4, 1) design.
